The MENA HR Excellence Awards 2018 celebrate leading employers and HR practitioners for their outstanding achievements and drive for impactful human capital strategies. It gives all organisations that have a registered office or a legal entity in the MENA region, an opportunity to showcase their initiatives and receive recognised for excellence in the area of human capital management and development.

Nominations open on Thursday, March 1st, and the deadline to submit your nominations is Thursday, April 12th 2018.

This document is designed to help you prepare all the necessary information to file your nomination. 

There are eight categories –  three individual level and five organisation level – so ensure you choose and file your nomination under the right category. Access the categories here.

One winner and two finalists per category will be presented with an award during the official ceremony at the Human Capital Forum MENA on Thursday, May 3rd in Dubai, UAE.


  • Only one nomination permitted per category.
  • To apply for more than one category, you must submit a separate nomination. 
  • Language of submission is English.
  • The application must be submitted via the online questionnaire ONLY (see link enclosed in the nomination paper corresponding to the category).

  • All supporting documents exceeding 4MB in size must be shared via WeTransfer (
  • Nominations will not be accepted after the deadline: Thursday, April 12th 2018.
  • Awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, May 3rd 2018.


  • All nominations are treated confidentially.
  • All entries will be reviewed by a panel of independent judges on a ‘blind judging’ basis. Judging panel consists of HR Heads, experts and C-level executives from various industries. All completed nomination packs are given to the judging panel on April 15th 2018.
  • Only initiatives, policies and programmes implemented in the last 12 months will be taken into consideration.
  • The judging panel reserves the right to discard any unnecessary information enclosed.
  • The judges have the right to change the winner of each category with a majority vote, if required.
  • If two entries running for first place have reached the same total amount of points in a category, the final judging panel will declare a winner.


  • Any corporation, institution or individual person may present an entry to participate in the awards.
  • Applicants that do not get shortlisted may not be officially informed.
  • The nominees may be requested to provide any additional information during the process. Members of the judging panel cannot participate in the competition.
  • No member of the judging panel will be allowed to assess a company he/she is associated with. 
  • The nominee, if selected as the winner or a finalist, will be required to be physically present at the awards ceremony on Thursday, May 3rd 2018, in Dubai, UAE.
  • Each participant/nominee is self-responsible to ensure that by applying to the awards he/she is not violating copyright laws or intellectual property rights of another person, company or institution.
  • The decision made by the judging panel is final. All participants agree to submit to the decisions of the evaluation committee and the judging panel.
  • By submitting an entry, each entrant grants to Naseba, MENA HR Excellence Awards and its sponsors the right to print, publish, display, broadcast, and use the entrant’s name, entry information, trade names, trademarks and logos for purposes related to the award. The MENA HR Excellence Awards or Naseba is not liable for any trademark disputes concerning entries to the award.
  • Award winners and finalists may state in advertising or in promotional material, or on their stationery that they have been winners/finalists. They must include MENA HR Excellence Awards or Human Capital Forum MENA’s logo, the category and year in which they have won.
  • All participants must agree to these rules.


  • The two finalists and one winner in each category will be notified one week prior to the ceremony.
  • Finalists and winners will be announced to the public during the awards ceremony.
  • Finalists will receive a certificate of accomplishment while winners will be presented a trophy. 
  • Finalists and winners’ details will be included in the awards presentation, event website, press release and post event report.
